SELECTION & REPLACEMENT GUIDE
Micron rating alone is not enough. A reliable selection also depends on the housing, end connection, seal, flow direction, liquid compatibility, pressure drop and expected service life.
Choose the review path
Existing Cartridge Replacement
Start with the complete model code, full cartridge photos, both end connections, housing information and current operating results.
New Filtration Duty
Start with the liquid, contaminants, design flow, target filtration result, temperature, pressure and expected operating cycle.
Six-step selection process
01
Define the filtration duty
Identify the liquid, solids or contaminants, target filtrate quality, normal and design flow, and the equipment that must be protected.
02
Confirm rating and efficiency basis
State the required micron rating and whether the requirement is nominal, absolute or based on a defined particle-removal efficiency. Do not compare micron values without confirming the efficiency basis.
03
Select compatible media and seals
Review the liquid chemistry, operating temperature, cleaning method and required documentation before selecting polypropylene, glass fiber or another available medium and the applicable seal material.
04
Confirm housing fit
Check cartridge length, outside diameter, end connection, flange or adapter, O-ring arrangement, sealing position and inside-to-outside or outside-to-inside flow direction.
05
Review pressure drop and service objective
Consider clean differential pressure, allowable change-out differential pressure, contaminant loading, expected service life and flow per cartridge. Final values must be confirmed against the selected configuration and operating conditions.
06
Review total operating cost
Compare cartridge quantity, expected change-out frequency, labor, downtime, disposal, housing footprint and delivery reliability instead of unit price alone.
